DETROIT (CelebrityAccess) — Some fans are asking for a refund after a show last Thursday at the Fillmore Detroit by comedian Dave Chappelle where he appeared to be intoxicated after a late start to the show.

According to the Detroit Free Pres, Chappelle was booed after taking the stage more than an hour late, and allegedly slurred his words during a two-hour set that was panned on social media.

A video posted by TMZ shows Chappelle being heckled by the crowd during a rambling exchange.

TMZ wrote: "a seemingly wasted Chappelle took the stage an hour late (mostly due to the crowd still being seated), and told very few jokes. Instead, he sat quietly smoking, rambling, and slurring his speech."

According to the Free Press, the Fillmore compensated approximately 40 people with tickets to a subsequent Chappelle show.

"For those that reached out quickly enough, we were able to accommodate them with another show," Fillmore general manager Ben Doughty Doughty told the Free Press.

Chappelle reportedly managed to bounce back for subsequent shows at the Fillmore, even incorporating some references to the previous debacle in his performance. – Staff Writers
